Books for Christmas

November 17, 2014

Looking Christmas presents? Come to our stall on Portobello Market on Saturdays. We’re there on the corner of Portobello Road and Tavistock Road from 9am to 5pm.

For local flavour: try long-term stallholder Laura Del-Rivo’s Where is My Mask of an Honest Man? Stories based around the market and true local characters.

For cutting edge poetry: check outDiaspo/Renga by Marilyn Hacker and Deema Shehabi. A poetic conversation sparked by the conflict in Gaza and already a bestseller in the USA.

For the discerning reader who has read everything: make sure you get one of the first copies of The Stray American by Wendy Brandmark. It’s a novel about an American on London in search of a soulmate and his identity who finds some ‘Un-Americans’ along the way.

Enjoy!
