What have Eline Vere and Amy Winehouse in common?

Poor Eline, not only do people think she has something in common with Amy Winehouse, now award winning Dutch author Jan Siebelink has written a novel Het lichaam van Clara (Clara’s Body) which reminds them of Eline Vere.

On 9 October 2009, when I wrote the column Don’t do it Amy, comparing Amy Winehouse to Eline Vere, I couldn’t have known that Amy’s life would end in the same way as that of Eline.

Both died all alone and in both cases there is no certainty about the cause of death. Did they die from a broken heart or an overdose?
