Anthony Ferner signs Winegarden

January 12, 2016

Anthony Ferner will be signing copies of Winegarden on Tuesday 19 January from 11.30 onwards at the John Smith’s bookshop on the  Birmingham University campus.

Winegarden is set in Birmingham and features the fictional professor Winegarden head of the research group in non-empirical experimentation at the School of Theoretical Physics, conveniently located above a branch of the Cats Protection League in Birmingham.

‘It has that great old Jewish quality of combining high seriousness with low playfulness, it is rich and ironic and not ironic, subversive yet curiously traditional: it holds one’s attention, it provokes one into thought.’ – Rick Gekoski (American Jewish writer, Man Booker judge, 2005, chair of International Man Booker judges, 2011)
