About seventy miles east of Darwin lies Kakadu National Park, roughly the size of a small European country. It has sweltering rainforest and muddy rivers full of crocodiles. The bush is lush and sings with cicadas and brightly coloured parrots. In this part of Australia there are two seasons, the Wet and the Dry. The temperature varies between 36 and 42 Celsius and at this time of year which is pre-monsoon the humidity is 98%.
I hope to talk to you next time from Cairns in tropical Queensland, on the Pacific coast. I just hope Qantas will allow me to do it . . .Any comments? You can leave them on our forum.
